ADSL

For a long time I’ve avoided having a computer at home. I’m enough of a workaholic as it is that I reasoned that with a computer at home the small semblance of a life that I pretend to have would finally disappear.
Of course, this logic was completely faulty. Not having a computer at home didn’t give me lots of free time to do other things - it just meant I spent all my time in the office!
So, I’ve finally succumbed, and now have a pair of computers on my desk at home (one with Linux, one with XP), and an ADSL connection.
Everything is rather strange. I couldn’t even remember the URL for the internal interface to this weblog. I had to ssh into my work Linux box, onto which I have my desktop PC mounted over samba, find my Mozilla bookmarks file, copy it over to my home Linux box and import it into my home desktop copy of Mozilla. I should probably do the same with my cookies file and passwords, as there are going to be so many sites I can’t remember how to log into!
It’ll be interesting to see how my blogging habits change now. During the day I’ll probably post more to our internal company weblogs, and post here more from home.
